Fractional CHRO • Amplēo HR  |  Southampton, NY  |  20+ years

Silvia works with CPG and consumer brands, luxury retail, beauty and wellness, biotech, and media companies between 50 and 500 employees at the moment the People infrastructure stops keeping pace with the business ambition — Series A through pre-IPO, PE-backed scale-ups, and organizations repositioning after a founder transition or market disruption. She builds the People foundation the business strategy actually requires: workforce planning tied to the roadmap, leadership bench strength assessed honestly, culture codified into how decisions get made, and compensation and org design that hold up in front of a board. The CEO at ByHeart described her as someone who sees a situation from several angles at once and synthesizes it quickly, without losing sight of the human impact. She does not need six months to get up to speed — within 30 days a CEO has a senior People partner who has listened carefully, named the highest-leverage priorities, and already started delivering.

WHAT SILVIA DOES BEST

Building the People foundation for hypergrowth

She works with companies scaling fast or already past what their People infrastructure can carry, establishing the strategic core — workforce planning, talent strategy, culture alignment, leadership effectiveness, performance management, and HR operations — anchored to the business strategy and OKRs rather than run alongside them.

Leading through repositioning and transition

When an organization is repositioning because of AI-driven disruption, market forces, a leadership change, or a strategic pivot, she helps leadership clarify direction, articulate it across the organization, and bring people along with it. She is currently doing exactly this for a legacy media organization and a luxury accessories brand.

Getting the team ready for the milestone

For companies approaching a funding round, a PE transition, or a liquidity event, she assesses leadership capability, names the gaps plainly, and builds the talent plan investors and boards want to see. Across all three, she starts with genuine discovery before recommending anything, guided by the Forward Talent Framework®.

RECENT ENGAGEMENTS

Luxury accessories brand, ~20 employees and contractors, repositioning under a global brand management group • Fractional CHRO retainer • July 2025 – ongoing

An iconic luxury accessories brand was facing shifting consumer behavior and digital marketplace expansion, and leadership needed a senior People partner to help articulate strategy and align the team around a new direction. Silvia partnered with leadership to clarify the business strategy and establish OKRs, and carries the full People function — workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, employee relations, succession planning, and leadership alignment. The leadership team is operating with more strategic clarity, OKRs exist as an accountability framework for the first time, new leaders are being hired for the next chapter, and employees are being listened to with responses that follow.

500+ employee national nonprofit media organization, transformation and AI-driven repositioning • Interim HR leadership • September 2025 – ongoing

The organization was managing a workforce reduction, a leadership transition, a repositioning, and AI-driven disruption to its core business model all at once. Silvia built a framework for identifying future talent needs against the strategic direction, led a 15% targeted workforce reduction with care and transparency, rebuilt and upleveled the People team by adding two roles and developing existing talent, redesigned performance management into a simplified partnership model now rolling out on a new platform, ran organization-wide listening tours and the annual engagement survey with a consistent action-planning approach, and is partnering with senior leadership on AI workforce readiness and skills assessment. The People function has stabilized and stepped up during the most complex period in the organization’s recent history, and engagement action planning now connects to the other work streams instead of sitting apart from them.

Led the full People & Culture function through significant growth and ambiguity — building and onboarding an 11-person team across the US, establishing workforce planning, talent acquisition, and performance management, helping articulate enterprise OKRs, and running enterprise-wide compensation benchmarking and equity review, as a member of the executive leadership team and the Board Compensation Committee.

Chief People Officer • Tommy John — PE-backed consumer apparel brand, ~300 corporate and retail employees, founder-to-PE leadership transition • 2022 – 2023

Served on the executive leadership team through a founder-to-PE CEO transition, rebuilding People strategy, leading a full organizational restructure, and managing change communications to retain critical talent through the change.

OUTSIDE WORK

Silvia lives in Southampton, NY, where beach walks, locally grown food, and the rhythm of the seasons are part of daily life — though she still needs the energy of New York City. Pilates, dance, and a good book are how she resets. She is close to her heritage and drawn to cooking, art, design, music, and language, and she finds more meaning in ordinary good moments than in the obvious big ones. Friends and colleagues will tell you she brings people together in a way that feels real and fun. She holds one belief firmly: organizations that embed purpose in culture, hold people accountable to strategic goals, and keep learning are the ones that grow and last. She takes the work seriously and tries not to take herself too seriously.
