Jacob Smith is a Controller at Amplēo who is skilled in financial analysis and forecasting, transactional and IPO filings, GAAP assessments, financial reporting, auditing preparation, policy and procedure enhancement, internal controls, and system implementations. He enjoys building teams, creating value, and improving processes.
Before becoming a consultant at Amplēo in 2022, Jacob served as the Chief Financial Officer for an industrial manufacturing company. His responsibilities encompassed all administrative functions including financial and cost accounting, finance, IT, human resources, payroll, and risk management. He participated in due diligence, management presentations, and associated processes in selling the company to a private equity firm. Post-acquisition, he worked to integrate accounting and HR systems and processes with another portfolio company.
Jacob also worked 14 years in progressive roles within the audit practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC including two years at the national office focusing on SEC and financial reporting. His clients ranged from small to multinational companies in the financial services industry. In addition to consulting, Jacob serves as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of First Step House, a not-for-profit provider of addiction recovery services and low-income housing.
