Tom Histed is a CFO Consultant at Amplēo who brings over 15 years of accounting and finance experience working with organizations of all sizes – from small startup companies to large, publicly listed, multinational companies. His industry experience includes SaaS, manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, automotive, and more.

Before joining Amplēo in 2024, Tom’s specialty was accounting for M&A transactions – specifically, leading companies through the accounting process that follows an acquisition (“purchase accounting”). During his career, he’s completed over 30 M&A transactions with cumulative prices exceeding $2 billion.

More recently, Tom’s focus has turned to serving small businesses – acting as a trusted advisor to help them unlock financial insights and make more informed decisions.

He’s a believer in fundamentals. Across organizations of all sizes in his career, he’s seen first-hand the improvements that come from seemingly simple actions – things like using active listening in conversations or installing checklists when performing recurring tasks.
