Michael (Mike) Hertz is a Valuation Specialist at Amplēo, who advises clients on valuation-related matters including intangible assets, financial instruments (e.g., equity and debt) for the purposes of financial and tax reporting, merger and acquisition planning, reorganizations, restructurings, gift and estate, financing, and litigation. His industry experience includes technology, retail, restaurant, pharma/life sciences, and cannabis, among others.
Before becoming a consultant at Amplēo in 2021, Mike was a Vice President at Vantage Point Advisors as well as at Scalar in the Valuation group where he extensively valued intangible assets, as well as equity and debt securities for a variety of companies ranging from VC-backed privately held companies through Fortune 500 companies. Prior to Scalar, Mike was an associate in the Economic and Valuation Services group at KPMG in the Bay area. During his tenure in the valuation profession, Mike has performed hundreds of valuations of business entities for purchase price allocations (ASC 805), goodwill and intangible impairment testing (ASC 350 and ASC 360), board advisory, tax reporting, buy-side M&A due diligence, and share-based compensation (IRC 409A and ASC 718).
